Visual WebGui (VWG) is a platform for the rapid development of high quality, secured-by-design applications and the easy migration of desktop applications and abilities to the web. It is integrated within Microsoft Visual Studio, a familiar and easy-to-use development framework, enabling deployment of the most productive, secured and responsive HTML5 applications for data-centric, business web and mobile applications.
Version 10 utilizes all the advantages that are provided by the existing VWG rich extended ASP.NET Web products, while providing for a native mobile user experience, including gestures, mobile form factor and device awareness. VWG existing Web products already offer the rapid development and desktop richness of Enterprise Rich Ajax Web applications and this unique approach is now extended to Mobile as well.
Use VWG Version 10 to develop applications that do not hold any data on the device, with the client only responsible for rendering the UI and capturing user-inputs. The server runs the entire application code, and all the data-processing is carried out by the server. This secured-by-design architecture meets one of the biggest concerns of Enterprises, which explore the possibility of allowing customers and personnel to access the Enterprise data-centric applications using their devices of choice (BYOD). Furthermore, the HTML5 nature of the framework supports the concept of Develop Once, Deploy Many.
Another major challenge for using mobile devices for accessing and using data-centric applications is their relative weak computing power. Mobile devices have weaker processors, and usually slower access to the Web than personal computers. Therefore, they have a reduced capacity to handle large amount of Web data and graphics. In addition, the form factors of mobile devices and the lack of a keyboard and mouse, requires a different approach for data display and handling.
VWG Version 10 architecture meets these challenges by significantly reducing the bandwidth and CPU resources required by the client. VWG Version 10 also provides cross-platform accessibility, and enables rapid application development by using existing skill sets. To create a development framework that is best suited for mobiles, VWG Version 10 extends the set of control capabilities to include mobile gestures, visual effects, and animation transitions. Mobile applications can thus be developed within the boundaries of the required form factors and unique nature of mobile devices and experience.
